EAB is now in suburban Johnson County!
Based on the recent
finds of EAB, we are recommending all homeowners with high value
Ash trees inject them in 2015 for control of Emerald Ash Borer.
If you have a valuable Ash tree or trees, there is one treatment method that has worked every time it has been
used correctly. Do not settle for anything less than Tree-Age.
*There are other chemicals being marketed for EAB control that are not going to work well on large trees or under heavy beetle pressure.

Winter 2014/2015-Received an email from KCMO City Forester Kevin LaPointe. Forestry crews are finding EAB everywhere on the Missouri side and are finding it far South, close to State Line/119th.

Ash Borer found in Roeland Park, Kansas.City Forester Carl Wisdom confirmed EAB was found in a trap tree.EAB was confirmed in Shawnee Mission Park and in Overland Park. These 2 recent finds tell us that EAB is moving through Johnson County.

This was verified through state and federal agencies.
This is the first confirmed find in the suburban Johnson County area and should be considered a wake-up call for residents with high value Ash trees. Now is the time to start injecting for preventative control.
